HOMBERGER HINGUCKER MAGAZIN

Vor 5 Jahren wurde von der Stadt eine Imagebroschüre herausgegeben. Zweisprachig: Deutsch und Englisch. Die englische Übersetzung war offensichtlich mit einem Computerprogramm übersetzt und nicht nachbearbeitet worden. Das Ergebnis sorgte für Gelächter, das in den deutschen Medien verbreitet wurde. So wurde Homberg mit einem Schlag überall bekannt.

Die Broschüre wurde eingezogen und mit einer überarbeiteten Übersetzung neu gedruckt. Die Kosten soll die Versicherung bezahlt haben.

Immer wieder gibt es Nachfragen nach dieser Computer-Übersetzung.

Die Broschüre wurde überarbeitet und erschien im Oktober 2005 neu.

In der neuen Broschüre beschreibt der Bürgermeister im Vorwort die Vorzüge der Stadt.

„Es gibt ein breites Angebot öffentlicher und privater Einrichtungen, vom Schwimmbad zu Autowaschanlagen, von Schulen aller Art und Kindergärten bis zur Stadthalle und Dorfgemeinschaftshäusern, von Arztpraxen bis zum Krankenhaus.
